Welcome to Sakura Hill's Dairy Goats
Sakura Hill's is located in Caldwell Idaho, about two miles outside of Emmett. This herd was established April 2013.
Although Sakura Hill's was established in 2013 I have had giats since February 2010. What started out as a 4H project for my son blossomed into what it is today.
I have the following breeds in my herd: Alpine, Nubian, Oberhasli, Sable, Saanen, and Grades. I am striving to build my Sable herd as this is the breed I started out with in my oldest doe Sweetened CiCi. I will continue though having small numbers of the other breeds as I work to remove Experimentals and build on American herds. :-)
As you look through my herd, please note that I am striving to improve my herd exponentially. I am still fairly new in the ADGA show ring, as well as doing Linear Appraisals, and DHIR testing. I am excited to develop a better herd through the usage of the above performance programs. I am striving to pay great attention to pedigree, conformation, dam production, and Linear Appraisals, as well as guidance from experienced goat breeders, and ADGA sanctioned judges.
I test every year for CAE and maintain a CAE FREE herd. All kids are on CAE prevention and I bottle feed each kid from birth on pasteurized milk and all milk formula. Other tests done when I certify to be licensed are TB, and Brucellosis and then will be done annually thereafter. They are provided loose minerals, fresh water, alfalfa hay and grass hay.
I hope you enjoy exploring my herd. I will keep improving my herd as we press onward to better genetics.
Sincerely,
Shanna Carlson
